The Hard Truth: Chronic Pelvic Pain ( Its Not the same as giving birth)
Dude it sucks.
Seriously, living with chronic pelvic pain is utterly devastating to your self-esteem and confidence. For a long time, I was suffering in so much pain that I couldn’t get under control due to the severity of my condition.
People often don’t recognize how demoralizing it can be to live with chronic pelvic pain. Symptoms due to their location on the body can often be even disturbing to experience at times.
Pelvic pain syndrome IS NOT LIKE HAVING A NORMAL MENSTRUAL CYCLE OR THE ACT OF GIVING BIRTH
I recently had a neighbor woman tell me that I didn’t understand what pelvic pain was unless I had experienced giving birth. I looked at her thinking lady, have you ever felt or experienced levator ani syndrome or pudendal neuralgia?
Let me explain: The pain is usually not temporary and there is little awareness about it .
It feels like there is a golf ball in butt that you’re constantly sitting on, this is because the muscles in your colon get so tight, they actually start to form a ball inside your rectum. This comes with extreme pain, when having to urinate or defecate. Let’s not forget about all the suppository medication (super fun). Then there’s that intense zapping and fire poker burning sensation from the pudendal nerve as its compressed due to tight pelvic floor muscles. While all of this is happening, I’m losing my job, losing my friends and losing my life. While you’re over there getting an epidural, going through one of the most common procedures performed and having the happiest moment of your life.
So, don’t compare chronic pelvic pain syndrome to giving birth when women are literally are designed to give birth, and its temporary pain.
Endometriosis, PCOS, Interstitial Cystitis, Pudendal Neuralgia, Vulvodynia, Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Pelvic Pain Disorder. THESE ARE NOT WHAT WOMEN WERE DESIGNED FOR THESE ARE NOT TEMPORARY.
ITS NOT THE SAME. NOT EVEN CLOSE. HOW CAN YOU NOT SEE THAT?
